Trotec Laser Systems has introduced the FineMarker FL100cw series of flatbed Ytterbium Fiber (CW) laser systems, with high-speed flying-optics motion systems for precision annealing of metals and controlled color change on plastics.The systems are designed for traceability applications that require meticulous marking of data matrix codes and text. A small spot size of less than 0.0005” on selected materials permits parking of text smaller than 2 pt. type. Continuous wave (CW) technology was selected as the most appropriate for these applications. The laser source is coupled to the field proven Speedy 100 chassis and motion system which incorporates high speed liner bearings and brushless servo motors to achieve maximum speed of 110 inches per second (2.8 mps) with 4G acceleration. Active work area is 24” x 12” (610 mm x 305 mm). The motion system is mounted to a double walled welded steel chassis that provides a rigid frame for a consistent focal length over the entire work area, essential for precise, high quality marking of data matrix codes and small text.
